SA wishes Trevor Noah luck

Pretoria – Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will on Monday visit South African comedian Trevor Noah at The Daily Show studios ahead of his hosting debut.

The Minister, who is currently in New York for the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly, will in person convey the South African government’s and people’s well wishes. 

"We want Mr Noah to know that the people of South Africa and indeed the entire African continent are proud of his achievement and that they support him fully as he takes the first steps of what we believe will be a rewarding journey.

"Mr Noah is assuming an important global platform through which he will be flying the South African flag high,” said the Minister.

Noah will be the new host of The Daily Show, which premiers on 28 September 2015.

“We are hopeful that many people will look at Mr Noah’s success and take greater interest in the abundance of talent that we have in South Africa in a variety of fields, including entertainment, sports, arts & culture, science and technology, for example.” – SAnews.gov.za
