Pretoria - Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown has expressed her sympathy following the death of a worker at Eskom’s Kusile power plant, in Mpumalanga.

“I wish to express my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased following the accident at Eskom’s Kusile plant,” she said in a statement on Tuesday.

This after a worker died when a crane collapsed on site on Monday.

Five other workers were injured in the incident.

“I wish the injured a speedy recovery. I have asked Eskom to investigate the matter fully and provide me with a report,” said the Minister.

She added that safety remains a priority at all sites and that Eskom must ensure that contractors adhere to the stringent safety guidelines. - SAnews.gov.za
