Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has conveyed a message of condolences to Indian President, Pranab Mukherjee, following the passing away of his wife, First Lady Suvra Mukherjee, on Tuesday.
President Zuma sent the condolences on behalf of South African government and citizens.
“The government and the people of South Africa join the international community in offering condolences to President Mukherjee and his family on their bereavement,” said the President.
He said the late Mukherjee was an outstanding person and a pillar of strength to her family and the people of India.
“She will be remembered, amongst others, for her great contribution to the preservation of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage. Her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of many people,” said President Zuma. - SAnews.gov.za
