Pretoria - The successful implementation of the service delivery driven Setsokotsane programme in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati district is an affirmation of the province’s pursuit of the National Development Plan’s goals, says North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo.

Speaking at a government employees’ meeting on Tuesday, the Premier reiterated the province’s quest for improved and sustainable livelihoods.

The Premier urged government employees to embrace Setsokotsane as a necessary action oriented approach that brings all service delivery spheres together, this in pursuit of a prosperous society.

“We have a responsibility to unambiguously implement the objectives of the National Development Plan according to our environment and circumstances, and Setsokotsane has so far been acclaimed as one of the most progressive approaches to achieving this task,” said Premier Mahumapelo.

Premier Mahumapelo encouraged government employees to appreciate the reality that by implementing the principles of Setsokotsane, they are shaping and making a history from which positive things will be derived and enjoyed by the future generation.

“As we will be implementing Setsokotsane in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District for the next two months, we move with the necessary drive and stimulation to change people’s lives, drawing from the experience and lessons learnt from Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District. The leadership of this province is grateful for your dedication and demonstrated will to make a difference in the lives of the people,” said Premier Mahumapelo.

In line with the already adopted approach to implementing Setsokotsane this financial year, the focus will be on one district for two months, during which period each local municipality will be targeted for Setsokotsane service delivery activities.

The focus from August to September will be Dr Kenneth Kaunda District, followed by Ngaka Modiri Molema District in October and November, before heading to Bojanala Platinum District. – SAnews.gov.za
