Pretoria - A South African business which is taking part in the Department of Trade and Industry’s outward trade and investment mission (OTIM) to Mozambique is hopeful of the business opportunities in that country.
ADC Energy supplies a range of transformers and related products and currently serves all nine provinces in South Africa, as well as various African countries including Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia and Kenya.
Some of the clients the business serves include BHP Billiton, Anglo Platinum, Anglo Gold, De Beers and Eskom.
“We currently employ 12 permanent staff and we are looking forward to employing more engineers and technicians as the company grows,” said ADC Energy Supplies’ Leon Samuel.
He said the company was hoping the mission will afford the company an opportunity to expand its brand to the Mozambican market.
“We will also launch our new product, Fault Path Indicators that are used for detecting the passage of fault currents in high voltage overhead power lines. The product enables the user to identify in which section of the power line network the fault is located within an hour,” said Samuel.
Samuel is part of the 23-member business delegation which is currently on an OTIM to Mozambique.
The mission will provide an opportunity for the business delegation from South Africa and Mozambique to interact with each other and exchange business contacts with an endeavour to form partnerships and joint ventures.
The dti has already assisted hundreds of businesses through its Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) scheme. The scheme develops export markets for South African products and Services and recruits new foreign direct investment into South Africa. –SAnews.gov.za
