No load shedding for Friday

Pretoria – Eskom says it has enough generating capacity to meet the current power demand and there is no planned load shedding.

“Eskom is pleased to announce that we were able to go through yesterday morning and evening peak demand periods without having to go into load shedding thereby averting load shedding for the day,” said the state utility.

Eskom thanked its customers for their patience and support in using electricity sparingly during the early morning and evening peak periods.

“Every little bit of savings goes a long way in assisting us to manage the demand and supply of electricity and to eliminate load shedding.

“In winter, the electricity demand peaks in the morning and evening as more electricity is used during these times,” it said.

Eskom appealed to customers to continue to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day but also be aware of the need to save more during the peak periods from 6am to 10am and 5pm to 10pm. – SAnews.gov.za
