Pretoria - Acting President Edna Molewa (Minister of Environmental Affairs) has extended condolences on behalf of government to the family of former National Police Commissioner Jackie Selebi.
The Presidency on Friday said Selebi passed away in the morning. He is also a former Director-General of the then Department of Foreign Affairs, and a veteran of the liberation struggle.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the Selebi family on the sad passing. Mr Selebi's selfless contribution to the liberation struggle as well as the freedom and democracy we enjoy today will forever be remembered," said Acting President Molewa. - SAnews.gov.za
