Pretoria – In just a few hours the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, will announce the National Senior Certificate (NSC) results.
The announcement of the matric pass rate will be broadcast live on SABC at 6pm this evening.
This comes after the quality assurance council, UMALUSI, declared the 2014 NSC examinations as free, fair and credible after rigorous verification of all examination processes.
The department said this was due to the unwavering commitment demonstrated by examination officials at the department and across the provinces.
Tomorrow matrics will be able to access their results in various newspapers using only their exam numbers.
Candidates are urged to obtain their results at the school or exam centre where they wrote their examination. “Candidates will receive support and advice as well as relevant information regarding their results and the available options,” said the department.
Members of the Portfolio Committee on Education as well as the Select Committee on Education and Recreation and Education MECs from several provinces will attend the announcement of the matric results. – SAnews.gov.za
