President Zuma to miss Cabinet Lekgotla

Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma will miss the first Cabinet Lekgotla which starts today, according to the Presidency.

“President Jacob Zuma continues to rest at home this week and will not attend the Cabinet Lekgotla,” the Presidency said in a statement last night.

The President was admitted to a Pretoria hospital on Friday to undergo medical tests and was discharged on Sunday evening, according to his office.

The Lekgotla, which will be chaired by Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, is holding its extended meeting in Pretoria and is expected to wrap up on Thursday.

The meeting includes the national executive, which comprises the President, his deputy, the ministers, deputy ministers as well as the premiers of the nine provinces, who recently took office.

They will, among other things, map the programme of action for the year.
