Thursday, January 30, 2014

Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma has in a statement on Thursday sent warm wishes to the Chinese community in South Africa as they prepare to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The Chinese will mark the start of the Year of the Horse tomorrow, 31 January.

The horse is an auspicious symbol in China, heralding a year that looks forward to action, speed, achievement and the realising of goals.

"The relations between South Africa and China have grown from strength to strength, thus together we have an important duty to set goals for our relations in the year ahead.

“I would therefore urge and encourage the South African Chinese community that increased job creation be one such goal we can set ourselves to achieve this coming year,” said the President. – SAnews.gov.za
