Bloemfontein - Bloemfontein is abuzz with activity this morning ahead of celebrations marking a decade of the South African National Defence Force's (SANDF) participation in international peacekeeping missions.

The SANDF has been involved in several peace keeping operations in war-torn countries like Burundi, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Hundreds of troops are expected to march through the streets of Bloemfontein as they wait for their commander President Jacob Zuma to address them.

President Jacob Zuma is also expected to conduct a Symbolic Wreath laying ceremony and do a presentation of medals in honor of the soldiers
