Algeria set World Cup camp in Italy

Algiers - The Algerian National Football team will be holding its training camp for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup in Italy.

The camp will be based at the technical centre of the Italian Football Federation of Coverciano from 20 May to 28 May, said the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).

The FAF said the Greens (Algerian national team) will play a friendly match on 3 March in Algiers against Serbia.

After training in Italy, the team will go to Dublin where they will face the Irish national side on 29 May.

Finally, before heading to South Africa on 6 June, they will complete their preparation with a training camp session in Algiers, which will conclude with a match against a team to be announced.

The last time Algeria qualified for the final phase of the World Cup was 24 years ago.
