Condolences after passing of Saudi Crown Prince

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has, on behalf of the government and people of South Africa, issued a message of condolence to the people of Saudi Arabia following the passing of Saudi Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz.

President Zuma said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Saudi people during this difficult time of mourning the death of Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz."

The Crown Prince Sultan was one of the top figures in the oil- rich kingdom. He had various medical issues in recent years, and has travelled to Morocco for treatments. He had been in the United States since June and underwent a medical operation in July.

A funeral prayer will be performed for the Crown Prince at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh on Tuesday. -BuaNews-Xinhua
