Tickets sold out for Brazil/Italy match

Pretoria - Tickets for the Brazil/Italy FIFA Confederations Cup match at Loftus Versveld in Pretoria on 21 June have sold out.

This was confirmed by FIFA spokesperson Delia Fischer on Thursday. "Tickets for the Brazil and Italy match on June 21 have sold out," she said.

FIFA also announced that 630 021 tickets in 188 different countries have been sold.

According to a statement, nearly half of those were submitted by South Africans at 301 601.

Supporters from the United States have purchased the second largest number of tickets with 73 441, followed by the United Kingdom with 42 907 tickets. Germany has applied for 30 880 and Australia had requested 15 038.

Reigning champions, Italy, have so far submitted 6 063 ticket orders, Brazil has 5 777 and France has 5 106 tickets.

The second ticketing phase will follow on a first come, first serve basis until 16 November.

All four venues have been split up in four categories with category one the most expensive and category four the cheapest and exclusively reserved for South Africans for group matches and third and fourth place.
