Public Enterprises DG resigns

Pretoria - The Director General of Public Enterprises Portia Molefe has resigned from her post to pursue other interests.

The department said in a statement on Friday, Ms Molefe, will serve three months notice and leave the department at the end of November 2009.

Public Enterprises Minister Barbara Hogan thanked Ms Molefe for her selfless service to the department, government and the country over the past five years,

She said her insight into national economic imperatives, both at an enterprise and national level, had driven the departments' renewed focus on State Owned Enterprises as vehicles for industrial development and economic growth.

"Her passion and dedication are legendary, she has transformed the department into a professional environment, committed to achieving excellence.

"She leaves a solid foundation that will enable the department to continue to achieve its mandate and execute existing and future projects," Minister Hogan said.
