Pretoria - Motorists are expected to pay 6 cents more for a litre of petrol as of next week, the Energy Ministry announced on Friday.
The retail price of all grades of petrol will go up next Wednesday in addition to an earlier increase of 18 cents.
In the Gauteng, a litre of 95 unleaded petrol (ULP) will cost R8.10 and R7.87 on the coast.
The prices of Diesel 0.05 percent Sulphur wholesale and Diesel 0.005 will rise by 4 cents.
The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will increase by 2 cents and the single maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin will increase by 2 cents as well.
For the period under review the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin decreased.
"The average Rand/US Dollar exchange rate weakened when compared to the previous period. The average Rand/US Dollar exchange rate for the period 29 January 2010 to 25 February 2010 was 7.6902 compared to 7.4735 during the previous period," said the Ministry.
