Pretoria - The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has extended the deadline for written submissions pertaining to Eskom's tariff application to 14 December.
Nersa spokesperson Charles Hlebela told BuaNews that the deadline, which was originally 30 November, had been extended to allow the public time to comment on Eskom's new revised tariff increase application.
Nersa had taken the decision to extend the deadline last Wednesday.
Eskom's acting Chairman Mpho Makwana announced last Tuesday that Eskom had revised its original 45 percent tariff application to 35 percent each year over a three year period.
Public hearings are still scheduled for 11 to 22 January whereby a final decision over Eskom's Multi Year Price Determination 2 is to be made on 24 February 2010.
Written comments can be submitted to the regulator on mypd2@nersa.org.za, faxed to 012 401 4700 submitted at 526 Vermeulen Street, Arcadia, Pretoria. It can also be posted to PO Box 40343, Arcadia, 0083, Pretoria.
