Johannesburg - Commuters who are using the newly launched Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system have been asked to SMS their comments and suggestions on how the system can be improved, to the City of Johannesburg.

The initiative aims to ensure that members of the public receive the best possible public transport system.

MMC for Transportation, Rehana Moosajee, said the BRT system was currently in a testing phase, which provided the ideal opportunity to iron out teething problems.

"We need commuters to tell us how and where we can improve, based on their first-hand experiences of using Rea Vaya," explained Moosajee.

Commuters are invited to SMS their comments to 33422. An SMS will cost R1.50. Information on the feedback campaign will also be available on www.reavaya.org.za.

By participating in the campaign, which will run until the end of the month, commuters stand a chance to win R500 in cash.
