SAA cancels New York flights

Pretoria - South African Airways (SAA) has cancelled flights to and from New York, due to bad weather, it said.

“SAA advises all customers that due to the adverse weather conditions as a result of the snow storm in New York, the following flights to and from John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, have been cancelled,” said SAA on Monday.

Flight SA203 from Johannesburg to New York via Dakar Senegal has been cancelled as well as Tuesday’s flight SA204 from New York to Johannesburg has been cancelled.

“SAA customers in possession of tickets issued on or before 26 January 2015 - for travel from Johannesburg to Dakar and or New York and New York to Johannesburg on the above flights only and who may be affected by the flight cancellations, will be offered assistance through SAA’s Call Centres, City Ticket Offices, Airport Ticket Offices or Travel Agencies. Alternatively customers may visit our website www.flysaa.com  for further updates.”

The airline said it regrets the inconvenience that may be caused due to the cancellation of the flights.

“We will continue to monitor the conditions and will report any changes in the current weather conditions that may impact a safe travel experience to New York,” said the airline.
