Pretoria - Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has been discharged from the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria, the Department of Health said on Wednesday.
The Minister was diagnosed with pneumonia and was admitted to hospital on Sunday.
The department said he was responding well to treatment and was in good spirits.
“The doctors at Steve Biko Academic hospital assessed the condition of the Minister earlier this afternoon and concluded that the worst is over and discharged him from hospital to recover at home,” the department said in its statement.
The Minister thanked all South Africans including colleagues, academics, professionals, friends, relatives and organisations for the well wishes during his hospital stay.
The Deputy Minister of Health Joe Phaahla welcomed the discharge and wished him a speedy recovery. - SAnews.gov.za
