Pretoria - Defence and Military Veterans Director General Tsepe Motumi and the Deputy Director General: Corporate Services, General Lifeni Make, have been placed on special leave.

The move comes after Defence and Military Veterans Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula considered a high risk assessment report done by Internal Audit within the department.

“This is to allow for an investigation to be conducted on matters arising from the Internal Audit,” the department said in a statement.

The minister has directed the Secretary of Defence, Dr Sam Gulube, to get the investigation to be conducted immediately and for it to be concluded in the shortest time possible.
