Monday, May 27, 2013

Pretoria – Home Affairs Minister Naledi Pandor today spent the morning at Lejweleputswa District Municipality in the Free State, assessing her department’s service delivery levels.

Pandor's visit started at Welkom Home Affairs office, where she met with the provincial Home Affairs senior management.

The meeting was followed by a walk-about as well as interaction with both staff and clients.

At about 11am, Pandor assisted staff with the distribution of uncollected Identity Documents in and around Welkom, as well as issuing birth certificates to parents of newly-born babies at Medi Clinic and Bongani hospitals.

She was later joined by the members of the Lejweleputswa Stakeholder Forums.

The minister’s entourage stopped-over in Thabong township, where an outreach programme involving other government departments such as Health, Social Development and Home Affairs, offered services to members of the public.

The minister’s visit to the Free State will culminate in a public participation event, scheduled to take place at Theunissen Municipal Hall. – SAnews.gov.za
