London police continue searches in wake of terror attack

Moscow - London police are continuing with the searches and detentions following the deadly terror attack which took place in the city on Saturday.

"At around 04:15hrs [03:15 GMT] on Monday, 5 June, officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command investigating the London Bridge terror attack entered two further addresses - one in Newham and another in Barking. A number of people have been detained and are at present being spoken to," the London Police said in a statement on Monday.

On Saturday, at 22:08 local time (21:08 GMT), a vehicle struck pedestrians on London Bridge.

The vehicle with three suspects continued to drive from London Bridge to Borough Market, after which the suspects left the vehicle and carried out a stabbing attack at the market.

The attackers were confronted by the police and shot dead within minutes.

According to the local authorities, at least seven people were killed and 48 more injured. - Sputnik
