Univen to officially launch commercial company

Pretoria – The success of the University of Venda (Univen) Commercial Company will be celebrated tonight in Thohoyandou at the official launch of the enterprise.

While established in 2010, the financial wing of Univen is only having its official launch today. Univen is the first historically black university to establish a commercial company, which posted a profit three years after its formation.

Communications Minister Faith Muthambi will give the keynote address at the official launch.

“It is encouraging to see that at the end of each financial year, this commercial wing of the university gives 10% of its revenue to the university to benefit students,” said Minister Muthambi. – SAnews.gov.za
