Submission date for fishing rights extended

Pretoria - Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Senzeni Zokwana has extend the submission deadline for the Fishing Rights Application Process (FRAP) 2015/16 applications to Friday, 26 February at 4pm.

The Minister extended the deadline after consultation with the various prospective applicants. The initial closing date was 12 February.

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said it will reopen the centres where applicants can submit their applications from Monday, 22 February at 8am until Friday, 26 February at 4pm. 

There will be 33 centres established to receive the applications.

“Those applicants, who have already submitted their applications forms, may submit supplementary information, should they wish to do so.  Supplementary information should be submitted in a file with a duplicate copy. It must be clearly marked with the applicants’ name and number and a copy of the receipt as proof of initial submission,” the department said.

Receiving centres will be open in the following towns (venues to be confirmed): Cape Town, Gansbaai, Hermanus, Lamberts Bay, Mossel Bay, Port Nolloth, Saldahna Bay, Vredenburg, Port Elizabeth, East London, Port St Johns and Durban. – SAnews.gov.za
