Pretoria - Brand South Africa has hailed the performance of the Springboks who beat Scotland 34 to 16 in their third 2015 Rugby World Cup match in England on Saturday.

Chief Executive Officer of Brand South Africa Kingsley Makhubela said the Springboks have inspired the nation with their performance.

“Once again the Springboks have inspired the nation and the world with their excellent performance in the Rugby World Cup. Their fierce determination to fly the South African flag proudly bore fruit with their hard won victory against Scotland in Newcastle,” he said.

Brand South Africa thanked the national team for playing with passion and determination.

“Brand South Africa joins the citizens of our country in celebrating your victory. The South African flag flies proudly in England and we look forward to your next encounter. South Africa stands behind you,” said Makhubela.

Before the start of the match South Africa’s first democratically-elected President, Nelson Mandela, was inducted posthumously into the World Rugby Hall of Fame at a ceremony attended by Sports and Recreation Deputy Minister Gert Oosthuizen and former Springboks captain Francois Pienaar. - SAnews.gov.za
