Special Cabinet meeting postponed

Pretoria - The special Cabinet meeting that was scheduled to take place in Pretoria today has been postponed, according to the Presidency.

The Cabinet meeting on 9 December had taken a decision to convene a special Cabinet session on the economy to intensively discuss the impact of the global economic crisis on the domestic economy, and review the Nine-Point Plan.

“The special meeting will now take place before the [Cabinet] Lekgotla in January 2016. The preparatory meeting of the economic cluster that was to take place on 15 December was also postponed to the New Year,” said the Presidency in a statement on Friday.

The Nine-Point Plan was announced in the 2015 State of the Nation Address. - SAnews.gov.za
