Service delivery in the spotlight in Limpopo

Polokwane -The state of service delivery in Limpopo's five district municipalities is top of the agenda during the one-day Premier's Inter-Governmental Forum (P-IGR).

Limpopo Premier Cassel Mathale, his MECs, executive and local mayors and other senior provincial officials are gathered in Polokwane to discuss and assess the overall performance of the provincial government.

The five district municipalities are Capricorn, Mopani, Sekhukhune, Vhembe and Waterberg.
Emphasis will be on performance monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the key government priorities including education, health, the creation of decent work and sustainable livelihoods, rural development and the fight against crime and corruption.

The P-IGR will also create a platform to address the 2009/2020 Municipal Management Act (MFMA) audit outcomes from the Auditor-General (AG); the outcomes of the 2011 Local Government Elections; post local government elections processes in relation to Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) and budgets.

They will also deliberate on the progress made by the state-owned institutions in relation to the implementation of flagship projects in the provincial growth points.

The provincial treasury will also present the state of finances and progress made in relation to previous resolutions in assisting municipalities on improving financial management.
