Second chance for matrics

Pretoria - Learners who did not pass matric between 2012 and 2014 are encouraged to apply for the National Youth Development Agency’s National Senior Certificate 2nd Chance Rewrite programme.

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), in partnership with the Education Training Development Practitioner Sector Education Training Authority, have been running the NSC 2nd Chance Rewrite programme since 2011.

The programme is aimed at giving young people who have failed matric a second chance to obtain their National Senior Certificate.

The programme is being rolled out across the nine provinces this year. To be eligible to participate in the programme, learners must have failed either physical science, mathematics, accounting, life sciences and English, and must have scored above 25% in each subject.

The closing date for applications is 20 February 2015.
