SARS officials resign

Pretoria - The South African Revenue Service (SARS) on Thursday confirmed the resignation of Ivan Pillay and Peter Richer.

“SARS confirms that Mr Ivan Pillay and Mr Peter Richer have resigned from SARS with immediate effect,” said SARS.

Prior to his suspension, Pillay was the deputy commissioner of SARS while Richer was head of strategic planning prior to his suspension.

“SARS has accepted their resignations and hereby confirms that the parting of ways was amicable. SARS acknowledges and appreciates the contribution of Mr Pillay and Mr Richer during their years of service in SARS and wishes them all the best in their future endeavours.

All charges and related investigations have been withdrawn,” said SARS. - SAnews.gov.za
