Pretoria - South African National Parks (SANParks) has on Wednesday opened for bookings in various national parks under its management for the June to July 2016 holiday period.
Bookings opened on 22 July 2015 from 7.30am for the call centres and email bookings - online bookings will open on 23 July 2015.
SANParks’ Reynold Thakhuli said the reason for opening both months at the same time is to make it easy for customers to book their holiday accommodation and activities well in advance as well as allowing them to plan their itinerary with just one booking, unlike in previous years where they had to book separately for June and July.
“Accommodation bookings in various national parks are always in demand during this peak winter school holiday period, which often leaves holiday makers disappointed for not securing desired accommodation as these are popular destinations,” said Thakhuli.
Thakhuli stressed that holiday makers must be mindful that available inventory in all parks will be made available on a first come first serve basis.
Visitors will be required to make the first deposit of 50%, 30 days after the booking has been made.
The second deposit of 50% must be paid 60 days before arrival.
