SA congratulates Brazilian President on re-election

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has congratulated President Dilma Rousseff of the Federative Republic of Brazil on her successful re-election as President.

“The relationship between our two countries is underpinned by a common desire to influence the global agenda in the 21st century in a manner that reflects the aspirations of developing countries,” said President Zuma.

The Presidency said President Zuma conveyed his congratulating message on behalf of government and all South Africans.

The President highlighted that the strength of bodies such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) and India, Brazil, South Africa (IBSA) is a direct result of the excellent bilateral relationship that exists among its members. 

“I take this opportunity to assure you that we will continue to build on our friendship as we believe in the strategic value of closer ties with Brazil as a valuable partner in the South,” he said. -SAnews.gov.za
