SA called to play their part on Mandela Day

Friday, July 8, 2016

Pretoria – Cabinet has called on South Africans to play their part in marking Nelson Mandela International Day by helping to establish food gardens, reading to children, painting schools and contributing towards the development of communities.

Nelson Mandela International Day, to be held on 18 July, is a reminder of everyone’s duty to improve the lives of those less fortunate.

“We encourage all South Africa’s people to use 67 minutes of their time to engage in selfless service because together through a collective effort we can change the world,” said Cabinet on Friday.

This year the focus will be on education and literacy, food security, shelter and the environment. – SAnews.gov.za
