S Africans encouraged to travel

Pretoria – South Africans are encouraged to travel within the country during Tourism Month, in September, says Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Jeff Radebe.

Briefing media during a post-Cabinet briefing in Cape Town, on Thursday, Minister Radebe said South Africans should familiarise themselves on the importance of tourism in the economy.

He said Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom will launch Tourism Month on 26 August at the Maboneng Precinct, in Johannesburg, under the theme: “Tourism Transforming Lives”.

Minister Radebe said the month would focus on the social, cultural, political and economic value of tourism in the country. - SAnews.gov.za
