Pretoria - The South African Police Service (SAPS) is offering a R100 000 reward for information that will help solve the murder of 60-year-old Elina Mphaphuli.

Mphaphuli’s mutilated body was found in May in Mbilwi, just outside Sibasa, between rocks and covered with a towel.

Police suspect that she was killed for muti, since some of her body parts were missing.

Police have established a task team dedicated to the case.

Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant, General Fanie Masemola, believes that there are people within the community, who have information, which could be crucial to the investigation and help find the person or persons responsible for this crime.

“We want to encourage our citizens to do what is right. Somebody somewhere knows something about this senseless killing. Give us the info so we can act,” said Masemola.

Anyone with information can call Colonel Mashaba on 082451 7188 or Constable Mutele on 0720833273.

The public can also remain anonymous by calling the SAPS toll free number on 08600 10111. – SAnews.gov.za
