President Zuma arrives in Angola

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma on Sunday arrived in Luanda, in the Republic of Angola, for the Extraordinary Summit of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).

The Presidency on Sunday said President Zuma is attending the summit at the invitation of Angolan President Eduardo Dos Santos, who serves as the Chairperson of the ICGLR.

The summit gets underway today, and South Africa attends as an observer.

“The extraordinary summit is expected to consider the prevailing security situation in the Great Lakes Region, particularly the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Central African Republic (CAR) and the Republic of South Sudan,” said the Presidency.

President Zuma is accompanied by International Relations and Cooperation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane. - SAnews.gov.za
