Pres Zuma has responded to Nkandla report

Pretoria - The Presidency has noted statements attributed to the Office of the Public Protector stating that the President had not responded to the report on the Nkandla security upgrades.

According to a statement released by the Presidency, President Jacob Zuma regards all the investigations and reports into the upgrades as important.

“He has responded to the National Assembly taking all the reports into account,” the Presidency said.

The President’s response to the National Assembly takes into account the following reports:

  • The report of the parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence, (JSCI);
  • The report of the Public Protector titled “Secure in Comfort”;
  • The progress report in terms of Section 4(1)(f) of the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act submitted by the Head of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU).
