Pres Zuma appoints new judges

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has appointed four new judges to serve in different courts in the country.

President Zuma appointed Justice Mahube Betty Molemela as Judge President of the Free State Division of the High Court, Bloemfontein, with effect from 1 January 2015 in an existing vacancy.

He also appointed Judge Gayaat Salie-Samuels and Judge Katherine Mary Savage to the Western Cape Division of the High Court in Cape Town.

The President also appointed Judge Benita Mandy Whitcher to the Labour Court for a period of 10 years with effect from 1 January 2015.

President Zuma wished the new appointees well in their jobs.

"We wish the appointed judges all the best in their new responsibilities and we are confident that they will play an essential role in enhancing the country's justice system,” President Zuma said. - SAnews.gov.za
