Pretoria – PhalaPhala FM will celebrate its relocation from Polokwane to Thohoyandou later this afternoon, at Univen stadium.

The SABC radio station which is celebrating its 51st birthday this year was established in 1965 as then Radio Venda.

The relocation of the station is part of a long standing agreement between the SABC and Vhavenda traditional leaders led by King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana.

Communications Minister Faith Muthambi is set to deliver a keynote address at the event.

Minister Muthambi said the relocation of the station will afford content producers in Vhembe district easy access to the public broadcaster. - SAnews.gov.za
