Petrol to increase by 17 cents per litre

Pretoria – The price of all grades of petrol is to increase next week by 17 cents per litre, the Department of Energy has announced.

“The retail prices of all grades of petrol, the wholesale prices of both grades of diesel, illuminating paraffin and the maximum retail prices of LPGas will increase with effect from Wednesday, 4 December 2013,” said the department on Friday.

Both grades of petrol will increase by 17 cents per litre and both grades of diesel will increase by 10.12 cents per litre.

Illuminating paraffin wholesale will increase by 16.5 cents per litre, and illuminating paraffin (Single Maximum National Retail price) will increase 22 cents per litre and the maximum retail price for LPGas will increase by 18 cents per kilogram.

The new fuel prices include the annual margins adjustment, changes in the Basic Fuel Price (BFP) and a decrease in the slate levy. – SAnews.gov.za
