No commission of enquiry into Cape Town council flats

Wednesday, May 27, 2015

Pretoria - The Department of Human Settlements says it has not established an inquiry into the renovations of the City of Cape Town council flats.

This comes after media enquiries from the media in relation to the appointment of a commission of enquiry into the alleged irregularities in respect of the renovation of the City of Cape Town council flats.

The department said Minister Lindiwe Sisulu had not applied her mind to the matter.

“When she does, we will inform the media. Currently, there is no commission of inquiry,” the department said on Tuesday.

The department appealed to those with information on any wrong-doing to approach the law enforcement agencies which are mandated to investigate, prosecute and punish law transgressors. – SAnews.gov.za
