New Public Service Commissioner appointed

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has appointed Ben Mkhonto Mthembu as Commissioner of the Public Service Commission for a period of five years.

President Zuma has wished Mthembu well in the execution of this new responsibility in the Public Service Commission.

Mthembu is the former chairperson of the Public Service Commission.

The Public Service Commission is mandated to promote the constitutionally enshrined democratic values and principles throughout the public service by investigating, monitoring, evaluating the organisation and administration and personnel practices, proposing measures to ensure the effective and efficient performance and issuing directions with regards to personnel procedures relating to the recruitment, transfers, promotions and dismissals.

This also includes advising on personnel practices and reporting on its activities. – SAnews.gov.za
