Pretoria – Gauteng Premier David Makhura has appointed Dr Barney Selebano as the new Head of the Department of Health.
The Gauteng Provincial Government on Wednesday said Selebano’s appointment will stabilise the department, strengthen its leadership and ensure achievement of better health outcomes in the province.
Selebano is a qualified medical professional who has held various senior positions in the public and private sector.
“Until his appointment, he was the Deputy Director General: Clinical Services. He was also the acting Head of Department from October 2014 to end of May 2015.
“Dr Selebano holds a BSC Honours in biochemistry from the University of Limpopo, MBCHB from MEDUNSA and a Management Advancement Programme from the University of the Witwatersrand,” said the provincial government. - SAnews.gov.za
