Pretoria - The North West provincial government has launched a call centre that is aimed at enhancing service delivery to citizens, said Premier Supra Mahumapelo.

The Setsokotsane Operation Centre, a one-stop shop for the province’s citizens to get assistance from government, was launched at the Archives Centre on Albert Luthuli Drive, in Mahikeng, on Friday morning.

“This 24-hour Setsokotsane Operation Centre will be working as follows. People will be able to come (into the centre) in at any time to raise any problem that they want government to address.

“Secondly, we are going to be receiving calls from all over the province. The matters that are raised (by citizens) will be referred to respective departments straightaway. The expectation is that within 14 days we would have responded to the concerns raised through the centre,” explained Premier Mahumapelo.

The centre has already created 15 jobs.

People can access the call centre by calling 0800 700 111.

Premier Mahumapelo was accompanied to the launch of the centre by Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development MEC Manketsi Tlhape, Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Dr Mpho Motlhabane, as well as Mayor of Mahikeng Local Municipality Gosiame Seatlholo and Director-General Dr Lydia Sebego, among others. – SAnews.gov.za
