Pretoria - It will be hard to miss a few prominent Ministers and Deputy Ministers who will be present today at provincial launches of government's HIV, Counselling and Testing (HCT) campaigns.

Several provinces throughout the country are launching their HCT campaign in line with the national launch by President Jacob Zuma and Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi last Sunday.

As part of wider social mobilisation in the fight against HIV and AIDS, Social Development Minister Edna Molewa will be in Limpopo, Education Minister Angie Motshekga will be in Mpumalanga, Social Development Deputy Minister Bathabile Dlamini will be in the Free State, whilst Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Deputy Minister Yunus Carrim will be in KwaZulu-Natal.

Motsoaledi again called on all South Africans to participate in the campaign by visiting their nearest healthcare centres to be counselled and tested for HIV.

"This is a battle that we have to fight. As a nation we have to do everything possible to make sure that we win the battle against HIV and AIDS.

"Counselling and testing is the first and important step in this battle," said Motsoaledi.

Themed, "I am responsible", the campaign forms part of government's new and up-scaled HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment plan which hopes to get 15 million people tested by June 2011.
