Makhado - Communications Minister Faith Muthambi has urged members of a Limpopo church to partner with government in restoring humanity to create cohesive, caring and sustainable communities.

Minister Muthambi said religion and culture are integral aspects of “our daily lives and are important anchors in our society”.

“Through social partnerships, we can recover our humanity and create cohesive, caring and sustainable communities.

“As we celebrate Heritage Month, we need to pay tribute to those aspects of our society that are the foundations for stable and coherent livelihoods,” the Minister said. She was addressing members of the United African Apostolic Church.

“We all know that religion as well as our cultural norms and values, underpin the character and nature of the society that we seek to build,” she said.

The church was celebrating its year-end at its headquarters in Ha-Mavhunga village on Sunday.

The Minister urged the congregation with more than 1.5 million members, who also come from the neighbouring countries such as Zimbabwe and Botswana, to also partner with government to curb the spread of HIV. - SAnews.gov.za
