Last chance to apply for 2018

Thursday, November 9, 2017

The Gauteng Department of Education has reminded parents that they have one day left to apply for 2018 school admissions.

On 1 November 2017, the department re-opened the online admission application system for parents that missed the June deadline. The late applications will close tomorrow, 10 November 2017, at midnight.

The department has warned parents that no new applications will be processed in January 2018, as Gauteng schools are full.

“The system is running smoothly and once again, we urge parents who have not yet applied, to urgently log on to www.gdeadmissions.gov.za and apply before midnight tomorrow,” said Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi on Thursday.

Parents who applied during the admissions period in May, who are yet to be placed, have been urged to visit the district office for placement or email the department on gdeinfo@gauteng.gov.za for urgent assistance. These parents need not apply as their details are already on the system.

The MEC assured parents that all those who applied on time will placed.

“The department has plans to ensure that all applicants that applied on time are placed. Once more, we thank the people of Gauteng for their overwhelming response to our call to utilise the online application system,” said MEC Lesufi.
