JSC shortlists 16 candidates for judicial posts

Pretoria - The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has shortlisted 16 candidates to fill vacancies in the various superior courts in the country.

For the Supreme Court of Appeal, which has two vacancies, five candidates were shortlisted. For the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court, which has two vacancies, six candidates were shortlisted. The High Court vacancies are in Bhisho and Grahamstown.

For the KwaZulu-Natal judge president position, only Deputy Judge President Achmat Naaim Jappie was shortlisted.

For the Limpopo judge president position, Judge Francis Legodi and Judge Ephraim Makgoba were shortlisted.

For the Land Claims Court, Judge Elias Matojane and Acting Judge President Yasmin Shenaz Meer were shortlisted.

The candidates will be interviewed at JSC's sitting in Cape Town from 13 - 17 April 2015. - SAnews.gov.za
