Makhado - Justice and Correctional Services Minister Michael Masutha has arrived in Madombidzha, outside Makhado in Limpopo, as part of National Imbizo Focus Week.
The Minister visited the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate Court accompanied by his deputy John Jeffery and Makhado Mayor David Mutavhatsindi.
Minister Masutha is visiting the village west of Makhado, where he is expected to engage the community on government’s priorities, as announced during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) by President Jacob Zuma.
The six-day Imbizo Focus Week was launched on Tuesday in Mahikeng by Communications Minister Faith Muthambi under government’s five-year theme ‘Together we move South Africa forward’.
On Wednesday, Madombidzha residents said they expect the Minister to address the issue of speeding motorists on the busy road from Makhado town to Makhado Air Force Base.
Gideon Ramalisa from Tshikhwani ha Rathidili said: “We need speed humps on this road because so many people have been knocked down by speeding vehicles. This is a 60km/h zone but most motorists are always flying.”

Through National Imbizo Focus Week, government will have an opportunity to create a better understanding of the National Development Plan (NDP), which aims to end poverty and reduce inequality by 2030.
Currently government is implementing the first five-year building block of the NDP, namely the 2014 - 2019 Medium-Term Strategic Framework (MTSF).
