Home Affairs branches open on Election Day

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

Pretoria – Home Affairs offices across the country are open today to ensure all South Africans can acquire their green barcoded Identity Documents or Smart ID Cards.

Citizens will need this document in order to cast their vote in the 2016 Municipal Elections. Already hundreds of voters have queued at their respective voting stations to cast their vote.

Home Affairs offices will be open from 7am to 7pm so that clients can collect their ID books or Smart ID Cards and or get their Temporary Identity Certificates.

Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba earlier urged citizens who have applied for ID books and Smart ID Cards to collect these documents from the Home Affairs offices where they had applied. – SAnews.gov.za
